Exhaust Fans and Cooking
Notice to All Residents of May Tower 2
We wish to bring to your attention that we have received complaints of cooking odors emanating into the corridor from residents of certain floors. Please remember to turn on the exhaust fan (located in your bathroom(s) or kitchen) when smoking or cooking. This will also prevent false alarms caused by the smoke in your suite reaching the detectors in the halls.
The building is designed to bring fresh air into the halls through the grills located in the corridors. The Ontario Fire Code requires all suite doors to be kept closed. The City of Toronto Fire Department charges a maximum fine of $25,000 for non-compliance and a fine of $399 (per fire truck) for false alarms.
Residents will be held responsible for any false alarm caused by their unit.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
